The target audience that I am trying to reach, Is from the ages of 14-28, which would be both genders but is primarily a male audience. The typical metal look that relates to my type of magazine would be long hair with either skinny or baggy jeans and band t-shirts. Another look that could be associated with my social group is shorts and tank tops which would be worn at gigs and other live events.
The musicians in the metal genre are a lot about the visuals and stage presence at the live performance, this has to be represented in the my magazine, I took this into account when doing my photo shoots because I need to depict the band in the correct manner; Confidence but no arrogance and authority but not condescending.
For my magazine, I made sure that the clothing and the location related well to my target audience; also, I used many camera techniques to pull off the metal look such as the rule of odds with sates that three people in the shot is more pleasing to the eye and would be more eye-catching on the shelves of a shop.
The article itself is very familiar to my metal social group because of the slang and technical words that only a metal fan would like. The tone of the magazine is also very relaxed and is not as formal as a magazine such as Q or Mojo, it is definitely more colloquial like Kerrang.
When taking my photos I also tried to make my model look intimidating in the on location photo shoot, but more relaxed in the studio photo shoot, so that they are relate well to the metal stereotype but are also depicted as nice guys that the target audience would get along with.
